HRH the Earl of Wessex, who has made his family home at nearby Bagshot Park, chose to visit a successful business in the Bracknell Borough as part of his 50th birthday celebrations. NRM which is part of the independent Cawood Scientific Group, provides expert analytical laboratory service for agriculture, horticulture, amenity and environmental services for land-based industries and has been based in Bracknell for over 25 years.

As part of the visit His Royal Highness spent time touring the whole facility, in particular the soil and environmental laboratories. Operations Director Linda Radnor explained: “The Earl talked to many of the staff and showed particular interest in how the complex equipment works.”

As part of the visit he officially opened the company’s new administration building. “This new building is a significant step in NRM’s history and development,” added Linda “It will allow us to continue to expand our activities on the site.”

Managing Director Nigel Patrick joined Linda in welcoming the Earl to NRM. He commented “ His Royal Highness was very interested in the whole business and was clearly in no rush to leave as he overshot his time with us by 30 minutes!”

Also attending the visit were the Mayor Mrs Jan Angell and Timothy Wheadon CEO of Bracknell Forest Council along with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Berkshire Mrs Jacqui Ryder.
